Blockchain Summit 2017 in London

I was at the 1st blockchain summit in London yesterday.

I thought I had been taken for a ride in Doc Brown’s Delorian Time Machine!

Key takeaways:

1. Blockchain has the potential to solve many of the world’s problems such as alleviating poverty, identification for all and accelerating new treatments for disease

2. Blockchain is a community. One of purpose, collaboration and hope for a better tomorrow

3. Blockchain is highly conceptual and very technical

4. Out of the 70 speakers, I didn’t see a single 20th Century Management Consultant! A first.

I was also introduced to two very respected members of the blockchain community. @Manie Eagar Founder and CEO of DigitalFutures B.U.I.L.D and Chairman of the Blockchain Association of Canada. Manie is a highly respected mentor in the crypto community and a trusted adviser on the subject of ICO’s MaRi Eagar is Co-Founder and COO. A strategic digital transformation consultant specializing in the human and environmental dynamics of emerging technology. Mari was also named by Thomson Reuters as a top social influencer in Finance, Innovation and Risk in Canada! I was excited to meet them both and I hope to set up an interview about investing in ICOs soon! A warm welcome to #TeamHuman, Manie and Marie!

I was also particularly impressed with talks from:
Jeremy Millar – Chief of Staff at Consensys and Founding Board Member of the Ethereum Alliance
Kieren James-Lubin President and COO at BlockApps.
These guys know their stuff
